My boy...
It takes a lot to convince this kid to go out and take pictures. I sometimes can convince him to do them around his birthday- and he has no choice at Christmas when I want photos for our Christmas card. But beyond that- I’m pretty sure there’s anything this kid would rather do.
But this is his thing. Baseball. And he’s been playing as part of the Washington Panthers travel league since he was 8 years old. We just finished up his last year as he’ll start playing for some more competitive teams in the years to come working towards his goal. I wanted to capture just a little bit of his ride with Washington, and that last glimpse of childhood before he truly does his puberty and all hell breaks loose. :). He’s definitely starting to show the signs of becoming a teenager. I get referred to as ‘girl’ sometimes instead of ‘mom’. He seriously won't.stop.eating. But, he’s also still definitely a kid. He still gives me a hug every night before he goes to bed and every morning when he wakes up. He still has that freckled baby face.
Grateful for a nice summer evening, a somewhat willing kid, and triple chocolate brownies from Dairy Queen as the bribery. But mostly grateful to have a boy I adore:)
