Sweet Corn for Sale:)
If you read my bio- you’ll know that I am married to a hot farmer boy. We met in college at the University of Illinois when his fraternity and my sorority had football block together. I was a DZ, he was a….wait for it….Farmhouse. :). Our dream was always to live on land in the country to raise our kids. Three years ago that dream came true.
When we moved in, we decided to make good use of the land and raise some sweet corn. Of course, because it’s delicious- but moreso, in an opportunity to give our kids a chance to learn what hard work, earning, and giving is about. The kids help us pick, sell, and distribute the corn. Half the proceeds gets divided among the five kids. The other half- the kids donate to St. Jude. Each year, we’re able to give a nice chunk of change to a charity so dear to our hearts, teach our kids some valuable lessons, and not gonna lie- our sweet corn is pretty.dang.good:)
For marketing purposes- we made the kids do a photoshoot the first year. We thought we’d be cute and have them wear no shirts and jeans like little farmer boys and have Soph in braids. Four years ago, they didn’t mind the outfit choice. Now four years in- we’re too deep to go back- so no shirts it is for these incoming junior high boys:) hahaha!! It’s okay- I will cherish these pictures as they get older! Here’s this year’s shoot, as well some from the past:)
